Based on the hugely popular Introduction to R and R Studio course run by NHS-R Community volunteers, the one day course has been extended into 3 half days and covers the principles of data manipulation.
No previous knowledge of R is expected.
The concepts covered in the course, and even some function names, will be familiar to those who use SQL and this course is aimed at those who have not used R/RStudio before or used only very little of it (perhaps running other people’s work for example).
As we work through the course we will be using and exploring Quarto to see how reports that mix text and code can be produced in R as well as be used as a way of managing analysis workflow.
I would highly recommend this training to anyone that wants to learn R Studio, the course exceeded my expectations and I just need to put what I have learnt from the course it into practice now.
I thoroughly enjoyed the session which now means I can start to do some R analysis.
I enjoyed working through the example questions in the second session, I find doing tasks myself is the best way for me to learn and consolidate knowledge
The course will be run through Posit Cloud but if you would like to use your own computer please ensure that you have the latest R and R Studio installed. No previous knowledge of R is expected.
Your training will be led by:
Zoë Turner, Senior Data Scientist, The Strategy Unit.
